Burnout and Fatigue
Burnout is described as a state of physical and emotional exhaustion, often arising from prolonged exposure to stress.
Fatigue refers to persistent and overwhelming feelings of tiredness or lack of energy that goes beyond typical tiredness. Fatigue can be a sign of burnout, depression or anxiety.
Other signs of burnout include:
- Feeling tired, low in energy or drained most of the time
- Feeling like you are stuck, defeated or helpless
- Feeling alone in the world or disconnected from others
- Thinking mostly about the bad stuff or having a gloomy outlook.
- Not being sure if you can do things and doubting yourself.
- Delaying tasks and taking a long time to finish them.
- Feeling overwhelmed, like there’s just too much to handle and it’s too hard.
