Addiction & Autism

The connection between autism and addiction is a complex topic that researchers are still studying. While there is no direct causal link between autism and addiction, some autistic people may be at a higher risk of developing addictive behaviours compared to non-autistic people.  

It’s important to recognise that autistic people have diverse experiences, and not everyone will develop addiction. Additionally, addiction is a multifaceted issue influenced by many factors.
